Win Win every time

It’s a Win-Win world

It’s a win – win world if we want it to be. We all want to be winners, especially at work, and play. Winning is great and losing is not so good. We often think if we are to be a winner the other person has to be a loser, though it doesn’t have to be like that.

What we need to be aware of is, "what is in it for your loser?” What will they get out of it. If you can understand exactly what it is that motivates your loser, you can help focus the situation so that you get what you want and they also get something out of it too.

This is a “Win-Win” mentality which applies to almost every situation and personal relationship.

Win Win Hand ShakeTo understand what others want and need out of a situation, you must be detached from it, and look at the situation from the outside. All of a sudden it’s no longer you and them, and you’ll no longer believe that they need to lose for you to win.

Win-Win works at home as well as at work. If you practice this with your colleagues they will be more inclined to work with you and be more interested in what you are doing. At home if you are desperate to do something, consider when doing that thing, how could it benefit family members. Also if you are a parent, just pause and think about how your children can gain from the situation.

The only time you should ever consider ending up with a Win-Lose outcome, is if you are to never see the person again, and even then you shouldn’t because you never know if you will come across them again in the future.
