Not knowing what you want is not ideal. If you cannot name exactly what it is that you want, with great clarity then you will never be able to go and get it. You need to know what you want, be able to put a name on it, so that you can recognise it and then go and get it.
Most people can't really describe or articulate what it is that they want. It seems to be so much easier for people to name all the things that they don't want. Not knowing what it is that you want is a problem. We live in a world where you actually get what you ask for, and this is also true for the things that we want, but only if we can actually name those things.
We get what we ask for, exactly what we ask for,
but we must be able to identify in our minds what it is that our
thoughts are seeking. If we are not sure what those things are we
will end up getting random things out of life or what other people
want us to have. Sometimes we are happy with what we get, which
gives us fuel to believe that we can just carry on regardless, with
no need to focus on the things that we truly want.
Because we know that what we get is what we ask for, why should we settle for what is imposed on us, and instead truly believe in what we want and go and get it.
What does success mean to you, what does it look like, how does it feel? How different would life be if you had what you truly want?
One of the problems people have when describing what they want is that they are too general. People declare they want to be happy, but however good the answer is, it is not really a life goal and is not something you can easily describe in detail or put a name on. Being able to describe it, means you can aim yourself towards exactly what you want.
Here is an idea to help you name what you want:
Be bold, but also be realistic. Don't aim too low, but don't aim so high that can't imagine yourself in possession of it. Be bold enough to grab what will fill you up but without being unrealistic.
Once you have named what you want, you might decide that you want a flash new car or an easy job, but of course cars do get old and eventually break down and you may end up losing your job.
What you really want is the feeling that these things give you. Once you realise it's the emotion that you want and not the thing itself, then you can better focus on what you are after. With focussing your mind on the feeling, you open up many more ways of getting what you want, much more than buying the new car, and it also improves your chances of getting it.
Be specific and define your goals in as many different ways as you can. You will develop a better understanding of what it is you want and it will help you put a name on it.
Once you have put a name on exactly what it is you want, you need to go out and get it. When you have the strength and enough desire to believe you deserve what it is you want, then you will be bold enough to have it and claim it for yourself.
